After a 3 year break from senior presentations due to Covid, we were delighted to be able to hold our Senior Presentation Night 2022 on Saturday 18th March at our pre-season dinner.
A brief look look back at the 2022 senior cricket season:
The season that had the weather. For the first time in loving memory not a single senior match was called off due to bad weather, with only one fixture having overs reduced due to rain interruption. Despite a significant injury list, and unavailability of players, all three teams faired well.
The 1st XI, captained my Alex Berne, Chris Williams as our pro and Dylan Faram in his first season in England, finished a respectable 7th with 9 wins and 13 losses.
The 2nd team, captained by Chris Marlor, gave debuts to a large number of junior players due to injuries and had a tough season, but avoided relegation.
The 3rd XI, captained by Neil Flannagan, struggled at times due to player availability but still faired ok and this will stand the juniors in good stead for the future.
- As a club we took 421 wickets and bowled 9100 balls.
- As a club we scored 7215 runs and faced 14304 balls.
- As a club we caught 198 catches but and dropped 397.
